Explore Japan with AJ at a relaxed pace, with local guidance, translation, and help throughout the day. Enjoy the same personalized day tour, with professional photography added throughout the experience. I’ll photograph you with my DSLR camera at different locations, using a wider variety of compositions, angles, and backgrounds than the casual snapshots included in the regular tour. Ideal for couples, families, solo travelers, or anyone who wants higher-quality travel photos while exploring Japan.
Travel beyond a single day and enjoy a more relaxed, flexible experience with AJ. An Overnight Tour gives us more time to explore multiple areas, enjoy evening and early-morning locations, and travel farther without rushing back the same day. Guiding, translation, local assistance, and casual snapshots are included throughout the tour. Accommodation, transportation, meals, admission fees, and other personal expenses are not included unless otherwise stated.
Designed for influencers, creators, models, couples, and travelers who want exceptional photos to be the main focus of the day. Unlike a regular sightseeing tour, we spend more time at each location to find the best angles, set up equipment, work with lighting, and when possible, wait for better weather, natural light, or fewer crowds. Professional photography equipment and additional gear are used depending on the location and shooting conditions. Selected photos include basic color correction, touch-ups, and editing after the shoot. This experience is about creating great photographs first — while enjoying Japan along the way.
Shop in Japan with local assistance tailored to what you’re looking for. I can help you find stores, compare products, communicate with staff, understand sizes or specifications, and navigate areas that may be difficult without Japanese. Whether you’re looking for fashion, electronics, gifts, collectibles, traditional products, or something specific, the service is customized around your shopping goals. Purchases, transportation, shipping, and other personal expenses are not included.
Visit some of Japan’s most interesting attractions with local guidance and support along the way. These tours can focus on a specific destination, attraction, neighborhood, cultural site, scenic area, or themed experience. I’ll help with navigation, translation, local information, and casual snapshots during the tour, so you can focus on enjoying the experience. Admission fees, transportation, meals, and personal expenses are not included unless otherwise stated.
Experience Japan beyond hotels and city sightseeing with a more relaxed outdoor adventure. Camping Tours can include basic tent camping, campgrounds, nature areas, and RV or campervan-based trips, depending on the destination and your travel style. I can help with navigation, translation, local information, campground procedures, and planning the day around nearby attractions, scenery, food, and outdoor activities. Camping equipment, campground fees, RV rental, transportation, meals, and personal expenses are not included unless otherwise stated.

I’m based in Oita, Kyushu, but tours are available throughout Japan.
For destinations farther from Oita, a minimum number of tour days may apply to cover travel time and expenses.
As a general guideline:
Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto — 3-day minimum
Hokkaido & Okinawa — 5-day minimum
Other areas are considered individually depending on the location, transportation, schedule, and type of tour.
For longer tours, photography tours, or customized itineraries, please contact me for availability and pricing.
Of course! Sightseeing is one of the main parts of my tours.
I can take you to popular attractions, scenic locations, local neighborhoods, cultural sites, and hidden spots, depending on what you want to experience.
Tours can also be combined with photography, shopping, food, or other activities to create a more personalized experience.
Yes. I can help create a personalized itinerary based on your interests, available time, budget, photography goals, food preferences, and places you want to visit.
Trip planning before the tour is available as a separate service.
I can help research options and explain how to make reservations, but transportation, accommodation, tickets, and other travel bookings are generally made directly by the guest or through an authorized travel company.
Transportation is not included unless specifically arranged through an appropriate transportation or travel provider. Depending on the tour, we may use trains, buses, taxis, rental vehicles operated by the guest, or other public transportation.
Yes. Regular Japanese-English translation assistance during the tour is included in the tour price.
Yes. I can assist with everyday communication during the tour, including restaurants, shops, attractions, and other situations you may encounter.
Yes. Personal shopping assistance is available for guests looking for Japanese products, souvenirs, fashion, electronics, antiques, art supplies, specialty items, or other products.
Absolutely. One of the advantages of a private tour is being able to visit smaller towns, local neighborhoods, scenic locations, shops, restaurants, and places that may not appear on standard group-tour itineraries.
Yes. My services are primarily designed as private and personalized experiences rather than large group tours.
Yes. Couples, families, friends, and small groups are welcome. Please let me know the number of guests when requesting a quote.
Yes. The itinerary can be adjusted for walking distance, rest breaks, accessibility, pace, and individual needs.
Good question. Weather is one of the few things we can’t control, and Japan’s weather can change quite a bit depending on the season and location — it’s not quite like California!
Tours normally continue unless the conditions make the activity unsafe or impractical. I usually prepare for possible rainy weather in advance, with a Plan A and Plan B whenever possible.
Depending on what you want to focus on during your trip, we may change the order of locations, adjust the schedule, or substitute an indoor or weather-friendly destination.
For Photography Tours and Professional Photography Tours, I may also adjust the timing or shooting locations to make the best use of the weather and available light.
Yes. Since this is a private, one-on-one style tour, the itinerary can be adjusted during the day when possible.
Depending on the plan we created together, opening hours, weather, crowds, transportation, timing, and your interests, we can change the order of stops, spend more or less time at certain locations, or make other reasonable adjustments along the way.
Some parts of the itinerary may be less flexible if they depend on reservations, transportation schedules, or specific opening hours.
Basically, no. Unless specifically stated in the tour description, admission fees, meals, transportation, and personal purchases are not included in the guide fee.
Any additional costs during the tour are generally paid separately by the guest.
Earlier is always better, especially during busy travel seasons. However, last-minute inquiries are welcome when my schedule is available.
Send me your travel dates, number of guests, locations you are interested in, and what kind of experience you are looking for. I can then suggest the most suitable tour or create a custom plan.
Of course! Tell me how many days you have and what you enjoy—nature, food, photography, history, shopping, traditional Japan, modern Japan, hidden locations, or simply experiencing everyday life in Japan—and I can help build the experience around you.
This option is designed for travelers, influencers, models, couples, or anyone who wants high-quality photographs as a major part of the experience.
We spend more time at each location, choose better shooting conditions when possible, work around crowds and weather, and use additional photography equipment when needed. Basic photo editing and touch-ups are also included.
A regular Day Tour includes guiding, translation assistance, local information, and casual smartphone snapshots at each location.
A Photography Tour includes more dedicated photography using my DSLR camera, with more variety in locations, angles, and portraits than the casual snapshots included with a regular tour.
The result is a much richer collection of images from your trip — not just posed pictures, but natural moments, close-up details, candid expressions, and stronger portraits with better depth, background separation, and overall image quality than a typical phone camera can provide.
The goal is to capture not only where you visited, but how the experience actually felt.
For all the Plus Tour, Photography Tour and Professional Photography Tour, the finished images are not delivered on the same day.
After the tour, I need additional time to review, select, develop, and edit the images. Delivery time will depend on the number of photos and the type of tour, but please allow a few additional days after the tour for the final images.
Yes. A 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation and hold your tour dates.
The remaining balance is due before the tour begins.
Because each tour is private and the dates are reserved specifically for you, cancellation fees may apply depending on how close the cancellation is to the tour date.
In addition, any transportation, accommodation, tickets, or other expenses that I have already purchased for your tour and cannot be refunded by the provider will also be deducted from your refund.
For example, some airline tickets, train fares, or hotel reservations may be partially refundable or completely non-refundable depending on the provider and fare selected.
Any non-refundable expenses will be explained whenever possible before they are purchased.
